Jacksonville Sharks add Arena Football veteran Aaron Garcia at QB

The Jacksonville Sharks, a first-year team in Arena Football 1 (AF1), added a prolific Arena Football veteran quarterback to the roster Thursday.
The Sharks announced that Aaron Garcia, 39, who has thrown for more 40,000 yards in Arena Football, will join the club for its inaugural season.
Garcia played 15 years in the Arena Football League, the past eight for the New York Dragons, before the league terminated operations after the 2008 season. He twice threw 100 TDs or more in a season for the Dragons.
“There needed to be a solid foundation laid for a successful Arena Football team that shows our commitment to winning to this community,” managing partner Jeff Bouchy said. “Having the caliber of player like Aaron Garcia choose our franchise over all of the other cities in our league is a tribute to his character and his belief of what we are going to accomplish here.”
The Sharks begin their season April 3 at the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. The Sharks’ first home game is April 16 against the Orlando Predators at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
