In a building where Doc, Moses, Wilt, Larry, Magic, Charles, Michael and a Dukie named Christian once shined, a kid named Thaddeus made one last indelible memory at the Spectrum on Friday night.
The 76ers came across the parking lot for one farewell appearance in their former home and Thaddeus Young's career-high 31 points made it a happy final act for a building that saw a little bit of everything in its basketball life.
The final final score, at least for basketball: 76ers 104, Bulls 101.
The Boss, the Dead and the Greatest Show on Earth are among the acts yet to come on the south side of Pattison Avenue before the building is demolished later this year to make way for a new retail, restaurant and entertainment complex called ''Philly Live,'' but on so many nights over the past 41 years, this was already the landmark where Philly came most alive to see the biggest music acts in the business and some star-studded 76ers and Flyers teams.
