Chase Utley is known for never changing his mood or his expression, at least for public consumption, but he could not have been too happy before he entered the batter's box yesterday for his final at-bat.

The Phillies' all-star second baseman had been 3 for 21 in his team's six-game homestand, which included an 0-for-11 collar in the series against Pittsburgh. When he grounded into an inning-ending double play in the fifth yesterday, it made him 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position against Pirates pitching.

What's this about a broken lamp and pizza stain on the wall?
