The free-agency signing period for the upcoming 2009 Arena Football League season is scheduled to kick off Oct. 15, the league announced today.

Teams will be permitted to contact free agents to discuss contract terms, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1. Teams may then sign players beginning Wednesday, Oct. 15.
